Pinto was born on 18 October 1984 in Mumbai. Freida Pinto is an Indian actress and professional model, best known for her performance as Latika in her debut film Slumdog Millionaire, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2009. She has done her schooling from Carmel of St Joseph School in Malad and finished her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from St Xavier`s College, Mumbai. Pinto also won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Pinto had also done modelling for two years and appeared in runway shows and magazine covers.
